You can view more details and sign up on our courses page.

Why virtual training?

Virtual training allows us to bring our top-of-the-line professional training services directly to you in the comfort of your own home – which benefits both you and your dog.

Will I get results from virtual training?

Yes. As our society advances in both technology and accessibility, the tools and skills related to effective remote and online training have made tremendous strides, making it just as, if not more, effective as in-person training.

Can the program be tailored to fit my learning style?

We offer a flexible virtual learning plan. However you can best retain the information, we will meet you there – be it weekly video meetings to review materials, phone calls to clarify information, or anything you need.

Do you offer other services that can help?

Yes! Our lead instructor, John Bellocchio, has over two decades of experience in various fields of training, behavioral science, document research, cold case analysis, and alternative dispute resolution. In addition to our virtual training services, we offer:

We also work with Good Homes for Great Hounds to help partner dogs in need with people in need.

Do you offer financial assistance?

At Fetch and More, we understand that these dogs are even more necessary in the current economy. Please speak with us about the possibility of an interest-free payment plan for our services.

Emotional Service Dog Eligibility

Are Emotional Support Dogs and Psychiatric Service Dogs the same?

While they are sometimes colloquially referred to as “Emotional Support Dogs,” Psychiatric Service Dogs (sometimes called “Emotional Service Dogs”) are quite different. At Fetch and More, we believe this distinction is important. Psychiatric Service Dogs and Emotional Service Dogs are full-fledged, professionally trained service dogs, and receive legal protection as such. Emotional Support Dogs do not have the same protection or training as Psychiatric Service Dogs.

Does my psychiatric service dog need to have a vest?

No, that is a common misconception. While some owners prefer to have their dog in a labeled vest or leash, it is not mandatory.

Do I need to tell people why I have an emotional service dog?

For the most part, no. While businesses can ask if your dog is a required service animal (and the tasks it may perform), under the Americans with Disabilities Act, businesses cannot ask for documentation of need, medical information, or paperwork for service dogs.

Does my dog’s breed or age matter?

No – the most important thing when training your dog is the bond you share with it. While certain breeds may be more equipped for being guard dogs, at the end of the day, it comes down to your connection and training.

Can anything disqualify my dog?

Yes, any dog that has caused serious physical injury to a child or another dog is not a dog we will work with for ethical, moral, and legal reasons (and for your legal protection). However, rescue dogs with an “alleged” bite history from a shelter are analyzed on a case-by-case basis.

What can emotional service dogs tangibly help with?

Psychiatric service dogs can help with a wide range of areas, including, but not limited to:

  • ADHD/ADD
  • Acute Stress Disorder
  • Autism
  • Eating Disorders
  • Gender Dysphoria
  • Mood Disorders
  • Panic Disorders
  • Personality Disorders
  • PTSD and CPTSD
  • Seasonal Affective Disorder
  • Substance Abuse and Addiction
  • Sundowning

What can emotional service dogs NOT help with?

Emotional service dogs cannot help with interpersonal marital difficulties or any ability that incurs a lack of empathy for (or inability to care for) animals.

Legal Rights and Accommodations

Do I need to disclose my disability to Fetch and More to qualify for psychiatric service dog training?

You do not need to disclose any of your medical information to us – all we require is a letter from your doctor stating that you qualify.

Can I travel with my emotional service dog?

Yes, you can travel with your professionally trained emotional service dog. Depending on the airline or destination, you may be required to provide information, such as proof of vaccination.

What if I get denied housing, employment, or entrance to a space due to my emotional service dog?

You (and your psychiatric service dog) have legal protections and rights. If you are facing discrimination, please reach out about our virtual disability support services, and we will work with you and advocate on your behalf.

If you have any further questions, please call us at 201-914-8268 or fill out a contact form.
